foo_w7shell 0.2.9

Hello people!
Many of you have probably updated to foobar 1.0 and noticed artwork configuration available. This is really cool, but API is a little different from the old one, so foo_w7shell couldn’t use benefits of new album art extractor.

I have also updated to the latest foobar version, so made a fix for the plugin and named it 0.2.9. You could get it at the download page, as usual.
It is built with the new SDK and works only on foobar 1.0 (or later). Those of you who is still on 0.9.x branch should use previous versions of the plugin.

I dont even know what you are talking about. But im going to figure it out. I have no idea what you’ve got going on but I like it!
Whatever this is im going to try it out. Done.

The iphone/remote app for Foobar is working wonderfully. I use it daily. Serious kudos. Do you think there will ever be artist and album sorting?

Thanks again for everything. I check your site every day.

Just what I was hoping for! Thank you!

First off, thanks for your work!
So you updated to the new version, but the prefs page is still the legacy type. :(

    Can I set the artwork path.Example d:\ablum\%ablum%.jpg

  5. pieceofsummer on January 18th, 2010 at 20:54

wygd, think you can, but anyway, this is up to foobar, not up to my plugin.

    please add volume control!)))

  7. pieceofsummer on January 31st, 2010 at 01:36

Volume control is impossible due to Windows limitations. Use hotkeys, dude! :)

  8. Zeljko on February 19th, 2010 at 21:22

Yes, I use hotkeys. But whats the problem with volume control? How is it possible to have play, stop… but volume is not? Because it’s possible to have only buttons?

    Thanks for answer :)

  9. pieceofsummer on February 20th, 2010 at 19:05

Yeah, only buttons are allowed. And quite a limited number.

Hi, and thanks for another great component! I have a slight problem with it, and I’m not sure if it’s a bug or if it’s supposed to be liked this:

    http://img682.imageshack.us/img682/9923/foobarfillup.png

Is the line supposed to be slightly non linear like it’s in the picture? Or is it supposed to be straight?

I have problem with artwork. Cover files are called Cover – Front. Everything is fine for JPG files. But for PNG cover is not displaying on preview. I’m using Columns UI and there artwork is displayed correctly.

    Hi, is this a bug?
    http://i42.tinypic.com/fegx7m.jpg
    Thank you in advance.

  14. pieceofsummer on March 17th, 2010 at 21:02

Jairon, yep, it’s a Windows bug. Sometimes it incorrectly measures border frame size.
There’s even a note on the settings page that recommends to turn on window transparency to avoid this bug.

Marcin, you should change your artwork settings to lookup your custom images.

Mec, this looks like some glitch in your Windows theme.

  15. Jairon on March 17th, 2010 at 21:55

    @pieceofsummer
Not even the window transparency (as you may have noticed through the picture) was able to avoid that bug for me.

  16. pieceofsummer on March 17th, 2010 at 22:15

Jairon, I’ve meant not Aero Glass, but layered window mode (in foobar’s UI settings)

  17. Marcin on March 18th, 2010 at 14:06

My artwork is working perfectly on normal UI, columns UI and even in your plugin. The only issue is with png files. Other types (bmp and jpegs) are displayed correctly in your plugin.

    Hi again.
So if a Window’s dialog is open that won’t revert focus back to the main window (e.g. File->Open)
the playback buttons on the win7 taskbar will not work, although hotkeys still do.
